My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was an adorable book. I got it with the intention of sharing it with my American Girl-obsessed, 8-year-old niece, who has the Rebecca doll. Of course, I had to read it first. I liked how it incorporated bits of history and taught a little bit about what life would have been like 100 years ago. It was done in a fun way that seemed like part of the story, not like a boring history lesson.
I never had very good luck with "Choose Your Own Adventure" books when I was a kid; I was always falling off a cliff or getting bitten by a snake and the story was about four pages long. This one isn't like that; it's actually fun to read. Choose-your-ending books have come a long way since I was a child.
Now I'm looking forward to reading to book about Kaya.
